Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition

St Aloysius College is delighted to celebrate the remarkable achievements of two of our visual arts students who were recently honoured at the Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition.

We are proud to announce that Sarah Barravecchio (Year 12 AME) and Rachel Kau (Year 11, 2024) received awards for their exceptional works, which were showcased in the exhibition earlier this month.

Sarah Barravecchio was awarded the Highly Commended Zart Art Sculpture & 3D Art Award for her breathtaking earthenware ceramic sculpture, Bella Addormentata (Sleeping Beauty). This intricate piece captured the delicate beauty of a timeless fairytale.

Meanwhile, Rachel Kau received the Highly Commended Executive Director’s Jubilee Year Award for Excellence for her Metamorphosis, a coloured ink drawing that explored the theme of transformation with exceptional detail and emotive power.

Both Sarah and Rachel’s recognitions are a testament to the outstanding talent and creativity fostered at St Aloysius College. Their works were among the many impressive pieces featured at the exhibition, which celebrated artistic excellence across Catholic schools in the region.

The Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition was an inspiring opportunity for students to showcase their work in a professional setting and gain recognition for their artistic achievements. Sarah and Rachel’s success in this competitive environment reflects their hard work, dedication, and passion for their craft, as well as the support and guidance they receive from their talented Visual Arts teachers and support staff.

Congratulations once again to Sarah and Rachel on their well-deserved recognition, and we look forward to seeing more of their incredible work in the future!
