Father's Day Breakfast
The St Aloysius College Father’s Day Breakfast will be taking place in the Hall on Friday, 2nd September commencing at 7:15am. We invite students to attend with their father, father-figure or carer.
This year's breakfast will raise funds for HoMie, a not for profit organisation that works to support youth in our state (further info: https://homie.com.au/). The breakfast will bring our wider school community together, with students, parents, carers and staff and a keynote address from the CEO of HoMie, Nick Pearce.
HoMie’s mission is to support young people and create pathways out of homelessness. This is achieved through their community-based projects including:
- The Pathway Alliance, through which young people affected by homelessness or hardship are supported into internships, which in turn create networks of support and acceptance, promoting confidence and wellbeing and improving engagement with education
- VIP Days, which support young people experiencing homelessness or hardship by providing them with new items of clothing, haircuts, toiletry packs. These days also provide a dignified shopping experience, increased social inclusion and feelings of connectedness.
Tickets can be booked here.
The breakfast will include a raffle and reception is currently accepting prize donations. HoMie does some absolutely amazing work in our community and we feel grateful to belong to a school community that aims to also support such organisations. All donations and their contributing organisations will be included in the event program on the day and we welcome any and all! If you would like to make a donation, please contact reception or Maddie Irvine.
