From the Deputy Principal
Of energetic, positive and encouraging spirit is the way I would describe the healthy and respectful attitudes of our swimmers at the ACS Swimming Competition held this week at MSAC.
Congratulations to all involved for committing to the training and the schedule of the fitness regime to participate in such healthy competition. Although this year, St Aloysius College did not feature on the championship podium, schools like St Leonards should not relax in their deserved success, as the future bodes well for a change – St Aloysius College always “strives for higher things”.
Students have also participated in competitions of the minds with continued success in DAV debating and preparations are afoot for Chess competition. Whilst some co-currricular activities are underway with summer sport taking most of students focus, the cast for the College production, “Seussical Jr” has been announced. The rigour of the audition process involving over 65 students was impressive. Dialogue, vocal and dance training, and the subsequent auditions, kept many students busy yet determined to try their best and push themselves into taking on this performing arts challenge. Congratulations to the 35 cast members and all the best with the rehearsals for the July season.
Sport Activities Off Campus (SOC) has also commenced with groups of students utilising nearby playing fields and our College Gym for supervised, more active options during lunchtime. Soon Code Green and Social Justice Team will be announcing projects for students to participate and next term with House lunchtime games, e-sports in DTIC, Art Club, Language Club etc. the opportunities to challenge oneself and create new friendships is available.
