House Spirit – Building Teamwork and Respect
The 2023 Prefects led an initiative aimed to increase student inclusion, participation, enjoyment, challenge and spirit and developed the Term 3 House Co-curricular Initiative.
At the start of term, students assembled according to House and then broke into Years 7&8, 9&10 and 11&12 groupings to plan activities that highlighted the wonderful work undertaken by our Mercy house charities and inform students of the related social justice issues.
More information on each house, including their charities is available here.
In addition to activities to fundraise for our House charities and educate our community, the following co-curricular activities have been running throughout Term 3:
- House STEM Competition
- House Performing Arts Competition
- House Social Justice Project
- House Art Competition
All students were involved in at least one of the above competitions and the finalists will be announced next Friday on Mercy Day. The Grand finalists for the House Performing Arts Competition will be performing to a Whole School Assembly, so good luck to everyone!
As the 2023 Prefect tenure approaches its close, we thank each Prefect for their contribution not only for the project this term but for all their contributions this year and wish them every success in their studies. However, the students and staff can look forward to the coming days as this Prefect Team is finishing with a Mercy Day filled with action and opportunities that our community will enjoy whilst we all learn more about the social justice foci of our Mercy charities .
