Breaking Ground

From the Principal

Today we witnessed a remarkable milestone in the history of St Aloysius College – the breaking of ground for the new Senior Campus on Boundary Road.

This pivotal moment represents more than just the start of construction; it signifies a new era of growth, opportunity, and vision for our college community.

With this groundbreaking, we are taking the first physical step in the College Master Plan that has been thoughtfully designed to embody and amplify our college’s mission and values.

The vision behind this project is rooted in our commitment to providing exceptional, holistic education for our senior students.

The new campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities designed to inspire innovation and collaboration.

This milestone is the result of years of thoughtful planning and tireless dedication, and it is fitting for us to extend our appreciation and acknowledge the Victorian Government School Building Authority grant of six million for this project, and the assistance of the Victorian Catholic Education Authority, Catholic Capital Grant Victoria, and Mercy Education.

Breaking ground is a symbolic gesture that reminds us of the strength in our foundations and the bold steps we’re taking to ensure a thriving future. We invite all members of our community to join us in celebrating this moment, and we look forward to sharing the journey of transformation with each of you in the months to come.

Community Connect

The Community Connect Committee Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday evening. I thank the following parents for their willingness to undertake specific roles on the Committee:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Minute Secretary

I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for the many ways Community Connect supports the College. I would encourage parents/guardians to join this energetic team in 2025.

The remaining few weeks of the school year provide opportunities for students with final assessments, exams, and planning for 2025, as well as celebrations of student achievement throughout 2024. I would hope that all students are encouraged to view the immediate future as a time of revision and reflection, as well as a time of preparation for forthcoming exams and events.

On the morning of Monday, 11th November, we remembered the sacrifice of all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in wars past and present. At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns fell silent on the war-torn fields and trenches of Europe, ending four years of bloodshed and destruction. We wore our poppies with pride and observed a minute’s silence with both reverence and observance. Lest we forget.
