From Year 11
This cycle is the last of term 3. By now, students have completed most of Unit 2, or most of their VCAL projects. Transition to Year 12 is indeed a few weeks in Term 4, right after Unit 2 examinations.
The 2023 Prefects have been voted and announced. This team of prefects has exceptional social skills, commitment values, and ethical behaviour, therefore will be of great service to our school and students. We are very proud of them, and they are great representatives of the whole cohort.
We had a wonderful Mercy Day on the 9th September. The morning started with a school assembly and mass, with a special reflection on our heritage of Catherine McAuley & living our Mercy values. Students then had a number of activities to choose from. These activities consisted of making something, such as biscuits or flowers or bath scrubs, to donate to Mercy communities we are in collaboration with. In the afternoon, students ran their own fundraising stalls. Year 11s were in charge of popcorn, fairy floss & chocolates. It was truly lovely to see all the teams working together so well, in happy spirits, to get the food cooked and sold. This day reminded us that we should help members of our community whenever we get the chance.
Sheena from We Are Worthy came back to run a wellbeing workshop. Through a bit of yoga, students had a chance to relax their bodies and minds, which may be considered a luxury as we do not often remember to slow down our busy and quick paces. We also had discussions about our intrinsic strengths, what makes us doubt our strengths and how we can get over this.
On this note, I wish all our students and their families, a restful and enjoyable break.
