From Year 7
While many of our students may be disappointed that the summer break is over, there is equal excitement at commencing the new school year. For our Year 7s, it is a big step into the unknown. Like most big steps into the unknown, there is a little uncertainty, some nerves and maybe even a few tears. That’s okay. It is all part of the journey; one we are on together.
For those who haven’t met me on our Talk and Tours, Orientation Programs or Twilight Evenings, my name is Jordan Miller. As the Year 7 Leader and Transitions Coordinator, it is my role to support the Year 7s in their first year of secondary education. I also teach Health/PE and will be taking some of the Year 7s in 2025.
I (along with the support of our incredible Pastoral Leaders, Wellbeing Team and Learning Diversity Coordinators) am here to help our students develop healthy learning habits in an inclusive environment. Our program encourages students to explore a wide range of knowledge and skills that encourage responsibility, accountability and connection. Our school theme of 2025, ‘Never be afraid of the unknown’, encapsulates the approach we want our Year 7 students to have.
Camp
From February 17th – 19th our Year 7s will be on camp. Students will be travelling 70 minutes north of Melbourne where they will spend three days undertaking the UNITE Program where they will focus on building character and forging connections. Students will be engaging in fun activities that become yearlong talking points. Consent forms and information such as packing lists will be sent out soon, so please stay tuned for updates.
