From Year 9
These last three weeks have been all about celebration. Week One we celebrated the return to school, Week Two we celebrated the High Achievers from 2023 and congratulated all our House and Class Captains for 2023 and this week we celebrated our College Swimaming Carnival and Opening School Mass. St Aloysius is a busy place and with its business brings the celebration, warmth and hospitality of Catholic Education.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate and announce the Year 9 College Class and House Captains.
All student applications and speeches were of a very high standard and I would like congratulate everyone that applied.
On Thursday 16th February, the College celebrated the annual Swimming Carnival that involved all Year 7 to 10 students and the Year 12 Prefects. It was such a great day. Students participated in their events and there was some very competitive swimming with first, second and third places. We were blessed to have some lovely warm weather. Students that participated in an event were also able to have a ride on the waterslide. It was a great day filled with fun and house spirit.
Here is what Nancy Persichelli from 9B had to say about the event.
Yesterday was the St Aloysius swimming carnival, where our house teams, Fallon, Scully, McAuley and Verdon competed against each other in a series of swimming events, including 25m relays, 50m backstroke, and enjoyable novelty events, as well as a Year 12 prefect vs staff relay, plus many more entertaining races. The weather was pleasantly warm, making it the perfect day to host this event.
On Thursday 17th February, we celebrated our Opening School Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral. All Year 9 students were able to have singing practice last Friday so that they can assist the College Choir. I would like to thank the students and families that attended his momentous occasion.
