From Year 9
As end-of-year exams draw near, it's crucial for Year 9 students to channel their energy into effective exam preparation. Having completed assessment tasks in every subject, now is the time to embrace perseverance and ask for help when needed. Keeping an open mind will enhance their learning journey and set them up for success. With final assessments and upcoming exams on the horizon, students must remain focused and organised. This term will pass swiftly, so it’s imperative to make each moment count. This week during Nourish, several Year 10 students shared invaluable insights from their experiences last year, providing practical strategies for managing exam stress. This session offered Year 9 students a unique opportunity to learn from their peers, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in their upcoming challenges.

As we reach the exam period of Term 4, it has come to our attention that our schedules may be packed, and as a cohort, we need to learn how to maintain a healthy school/personal life balance. While it is important to study for exams, it is also important to remember to take care of yourself! Please do not let anxiety consume you, and even if you do not get the scores you want, remember to take it as a learning opportunity for future experiences. Everyone should do something to treat themselves in the following weeks!

In Year 9 Food Technology this week, we are coming to the end of our unit, ‘Foods Around the World’. This trimester, we learnt about various foods, cultures, herbs, and spices. To finish, we had our last assessment, where we had to design our own recipe for a noodle box store and create the dish in class under timed conditions—it felt like being on MasterChef! This task was both fun and stressful, but we learnt what it might be like to work in a fast-paced culinary environment. Food Tech has been really fun and interesting this trimester, and we learnt so much! I am looking forward to some sweet recipes to finish the trimester.

With Year 9 exams approaching, students are experiencing a whirlwind of nerves and motivation. Many feel the pressure weighing heavily on them, but they find some relief in studying together and sharing tips. The past weeks have been filled with everyone gaining confidence by refining their study techniques and supporting each other.
