From Year 9
The Year 9 students have been having so much fun this term. They have been embracing all their subjects by finalising products in elective subjects and working on the last few units of work in core subjects before exams. Some classes have even started exam revision.
I would like to congratulate Eliza Reinberger and Abigail Mawdsley for creating a presentation on their passion of history and presenting this to the Year 7 students during a Nourish lesson. Abigail and Eliza went to the Melbourne Museum in their own time outside of school hours and researched artifacts and took photos of their observations. They then created a lesson for the Year 7 students to teach them about the things that they had learned. The feedback from the Year 7 students was extremely positive. Well done to these students on this great educational initiative.
Please see below reflection by Salamawit Hailu-Tesfay from 9B on how this term has been so far.
This term represents the first time we have had a complete year back at school as we were fortunate enough to begin classes without a lockdown or online instruction. For the Year 9’s, we have resumed our Trimester subjects and are close to prepping for our final examinations and excitement for the big holidays are in the air. Recently, we had our annual House Performing Arts festival where many of our fellow students showcased their singing and dancing abilities, starting this term with a bang. We also bade farewell to our Year 12 students, who had a difficult two years during lockdown but persevered, showed great resolve, and set excellent examples for the rest of the school. We wish them luck on their examinations and success for all of their future endeavours.
To anyone experiencing loss or that knows someone experiencing loss due to the flooding either locally or in the country, please know that our prayers are with you and your family. Please don’t hesitate to contact the College if you need support.
