On Wednesday the 3rd of May we travelled to Mount Alexander College to participate in a Model United Nations Conference. Representing the Federative Republic of Brazil, we and over 20 other delegate groups discussed the issue of climate action. The day consisted of speeches, friendly debates and diplomatic discussions with other countries. At the end of the day, and after the official draft operative on Climate Action had been voted on, the groups had learned a lot and made a lot of new friends. It was a fantastic experience that we look forward to participating in again!

For the Model United Nations, we represented the country of Gambia, a small Least Developed Country in West Africa. It was an engaging experience where we got to interact with other schools through participating in simulated debates, we also gained a deeper understanding of global issues and honed our negotiation skills. MUN empowered us to voice our opinions, appreciate diverse perspectives, and work towards impactful solutions in a roleplay scenario. As a team our country passed an Amendment regarding sustainable agricultural practices and how they should be set in place by all countries, developed or developing.
