Senior Pathways
One of the most exciting parts of Year 10 in Term 2 is the process of selecting subjects for 2022. Our students took part in a session led by our Career and Pathways Leader, Audrey Abelardo, that gave them an introduction to what the different senior pathways can look like. This was followed by Learning Leaders presenting the wide range of subjects in their Learning Areas. There was a buzz in the venue as students asked many interesting and relevant questions. Working through their Individual Educational Profiles, during ‘Future Me’ and ‘Nourish’ session, students were able to gain extra insight into areas of work they may find enjoyable and satisfying. During the last week of this term, the weeks of investigations and questions will culminate with the final subject choices and the first step to our Year 10 cohort transitioning to their chosen Senior Pathways.
As we commence preparing our students for their VCE years, a number of our Year 10 students studying Sports Development collected data to support the Year 11 Biology students. This was achieved by measuring heart rate during an F45 excursion, and whilst participating with our Cross Country Team. A perfect example of cross-curricular study and an amazing opportunity for the Year 10s to experience what goes on in Year 11 Biology.
