Remembrance Day Prayer

Gracious God,

On Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the lives of those who have served, those who gave their all, and those who continue to bear the scars of sacrifice. We remember their courage, their commitment, and their unwavering love for peace and freedom.

We pray for all who have suffered the ravages of war — the fallen, the wounded, the broken-hearted, and the displaced. May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we act with mercy toward all who have known such loss.

Lord, help us to serve with compassion as we look upon a world still in need of healing. Guide us to be instruments of peace, to reach out with kindness to those who are suffering, to offer comfort to the grieving, and to provide hope to the weary.

Teach us, O God, to walk in the footsteps of those who have laid down their lives for others. Let our hearts be open, our hands ready to serve, and our voices strong in the call for justice and reconciliation.

May we, in all that we do, honour the true meaning of sacrifice by building a world where mercy and compassion are not just ideals, but daily actions. Help us to be agents of peace, bringing healing to wounds old and new, and working to create a future where war is no more.

We pray all this in the spirit of remembrance, love, and hope.

Amen.
