STRIVE
As the week draws to a close, I am delighted to share an overview of our recently concluded STRIVE Program, which took place from February 11th to 14th.
This initiative, designed to promote Student Training in Responsibility, Innovation, Values, and Excellence, provided our students with an enriching experience focused on developing essential skills for both academic success and personal growth. During these three days, our Year 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12 students engaged in a variety of activities that fostered a growth mindset that included rock climbing, solving adventure room puzzles, completed challenging obstacle courses, engaging in study skills seminars and hearing from a wide range of engaging guest speakers.
By embracing challenges and learning from setbacks, students explored the belief that their abilities can expand through dedication and hard work. It was inspiring to see them approach tasks with resilience and a positive attitude. One of the standouts features of STRIVE was the emphasis on student agency and learning accountability. Students were encouraged to view every experience as a pathway to improvement, sparking their curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning. The enthusiasm and engagement the staff witnessed from the students were truly commendable. Additionally, the program focused on enhancing collaboration and communication skills. Through interactive workshops and group activities, students learned to express their thoughts clearly and work effectively with peers. These essential 21st-century skills will undoubtedly serve them well in future academic and professional endeavours.
Overall, the STRIVE Program was a tremendous success, tailored to meet the developmental needs of each year level. We are proud of the commitment and enthusiasm our students demonstrated. We look forward to seeing how the lessons learned during the STRIVE Program will influence our students' future learning and growth.
