From the Principal
Next Tuesday, 8 August, is the Solemnity of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the Melbourne girl canonised in 2010. St Mary MacKillop was famous for saying Never see a need without doing something about it, and many of our students recently lived up to this.
Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage
Over three days, Bethany Johnston 11C and Hannah Kennedy 10B, participated in the Mercy Education Young Leaders Pilgrimage.
World Youth Day

Sport Update
Dante Alighieri Poetry Recitation Competition
It is with great pleasure that we share the news of Anna Maria D’Onghia and Sienna Perez-Quintela's success in the Victorian State poetry recitation competition. Both Year 12 students were awarded second place in their respective categories - Italian Australian and Non-Italian. Their remarkable dedication and hard work leading up to and during the competition were truly impressive, and this experience will undoubtedly be a highlight of their final year at St Aloysius.
State Solo Championships
We are thrilled to extend our warmest congratulations to Harrison Brink (Year 7) who recently achieved remarkable success at the Victorian Bands' League State Solo Championships.

Seussical JR. was performed to over 1000 audience members with sell-out shows, we are so happy to have taken you on our adventure to Whoville and the Jungle of Nool.
From Year 7
As always, the B Block has been a hive of activity this fortnight: Our Year 7s have been busy with ACS, sharing their learning with their year 8 Mentors and learning all about French culture.

Congratulations to the newly elected Semester 2 Year 8 Class Co-Captains! We wish them all the best in their leadership roles. As we all know, our lives either shrink or expand depending on the courage and willingness to step out of our comfort zones.

It has been a very busy fortnight at the College for Year 10 students as they had Reflection Day, a workshop in Nourish, assembly, excursion, Production, Italian competition and CGSAV Football and Volleyball tournaments.

For Year 11 students, Term 3 marks a transition to future leadership opportunities and students from the cohort emerge.
